Me
« on: July 26, 2015, 08:16:13 am »
As those of you who are my FB friends know, I had back surgery Friday. Fragments and debris from L3 and L4 were pressing on nerves, and I was in excruciating pain at times last week. I was lucky to get into surgery so quickly. I came home yesterday morning and am doing well, although they warned me the nerve pain will return until the swelling around the discs goes down. It has but is mild by comparison. I should be back to what passes for normal for me soon.

Glad it went well. Don't start squats until next week, and keep the weight under 100.

Jim is way too much of a hardass to let this get him down. He once told George Washington that this back pain won't stop him from crossing that f---ing river.  Get well soon.

Glad to hear it went well, and you're on the road to recovery.  I, myself, am on the waiting list for a kidney transplant.  i've been told to be prepared to drop everything at a moment's notice when I get the call.  So if i drop out of sight suddenly, you'll know where I am.

Godspeed, Jim.

Hang in there. Bourbon is on the way.

No, seriously. Me and the (newer) wife are supposed to be in Austin for a long weekend in September,

I plan looking you and Marky Mark up for sure; as well as any other un-self-respecting Austin area Astros fans, for a meet and greet at wherever the hell it is you guys drink these days.
Shall we go, you and I, while we can,

Recovery is overrated ... just make sure you can reach the remote and have someone to refresh your drink.

Wishing you a speedy recovery, and a playoff team  to root for.
Remember Jesus Alou being called out of the 1st base coaching box to pinch-hit a double vs. the Reds in '79 I think, to win a crucial game, and he patted Morgan on top of the head (ala Benny Hill w/the little bald guy) and Little Joe got pissed.....yeah,that was great.
