Nice play by former Astro JD to nab former Astro Pierce going for a double.
Always ready to go to a game.

O's taking advantage of the Detroit D now.

Detroit's bully is a train wreck, and it has been all season. The eight run eighth didn't surprise me.

I've witnessed a number of epic meltdowns for the Tigers bully this season. They have definitely been Ausmus's problem children. Joe Nathan had an awful season; Joba Chamberlain is unpredictable; Phil Coke and Yoakim Soria (who I think is still not 100%) are both a hot mess. And these rest of them down there aren't as good as the ones who are pitching.

If they do in fact make it to the series, has there ever been a player to play in the World Series and College World Series in the same year? I'm sure this question arose sometime during the last two broadcasts, but like I said, fuck Ron Darling.

I hate the Dojers more than the Cards.

I still hate the Cardinals more than any other team.

It's so fucking typical of the cardinals to have some white dude named Grichuk that I've never heard of hit a homerun and make several key outs in a playoff game.

My descending list of hatred and justification for that hate for the remaining teams:

Cardinals (everything 1994-2012)

Angels (Pujols, Hamilton, rally monkey, Scioscia's character in the Simpsons)

Giants (recent WS jealously)
Tigers (recent WS jealously)
Dodgers (big market, Mattingly)
Orioles (owner gives trial lawyers a bad name)
Nats (Harper? I don't know. I have trouble hating him)
Royals (can't think of a thing)

Cardinals: obvious
Nats: Harper and arrogance, his and the org's, don't much care for DC or the people who have been fans for 15 minutes
Angels: Pujols, Hamilton, general vibe

Not hate but general ambivalence:
Dodgers (ameliorated considerably by Vin Scully)
Giants (ameliorated somewhat by my liking the city)

Of the remaining teams I'd be happy with the O's winning because I like Baltimore too but KC is my choice just because it's so improbable.

I consider Harper to be something of a performance artist, so I kind of like him. Agree with the point about the ex-Mets, ex-O's, ex-whoever bandwagonners that make up the fan base.  Also, until May they were singing 'Take On Me' after GBA. Really embarrassing. Some players I like though (Zimmermann, Zimmerman, Rendon).

Basically agree with Bench.

What celebration footage did they show? On my broadcast the video never left the game and I was momentarily confused when they started talking about it.

But yeah, Smoltz can suck it.

Teams I just plain hate:
Dodgers - $235 million payroll. Jerry Reuss broke Don Sutton's kneecap. (BTW, Vin is at his very best when the Dodgers are losing.)
Angels - Pujols, Hamilton, thunder-stix, rally monkey... AND Mike Scioscia's Simpson's character.

Teams I'm ambivalent towards:
Orioles - Nelson Cruz, St Louis Browns, The Oriole Way, WTF Milt Pappas?!?!
Nationals - fucking stole the team from Montreal
Detroit - nice team, but I wouldn't want to have to live there.

I don't hate but:
Giants - Pacific coast time, games start two hours too late, but otherwise a great place.

Teams I admire but still would like to see killed by the Astros:
Royals - Small market success is good for the sport,
Cardinals - Most efficient organization in the history of MLB. They gave the Astros a model and a GM!!!

My list:

1. Co-motherfucking-ards (need I say more?)
1a. Dojers (Tommy fucking Lasorda, Steve "are you my padre" Garvey, etc.)

3. California Anaheim Los fucking Angeles Angels of Anaheim (their name alone breeds contempt, rally monkey, Shitjols, etc.)

I really don't hate any of the other teams. Actually, I like the Orioles (I became a fan of that team when I was living in Washington, D.C. back in the late 1980's when they sucked bad), Giants (used to go see quite a few of their games when I lived in Napa), Royals (mighty-mites, etc.), Nats and the now eliminated Tigers, since I live in Toledo and watched a few of their games.
