Wallace needs to realize Jobu is just not gonna help his bat overcome its fear of the curveball.

Rainbow Guts!

I love those unis, every now and then, because they conjure up good memories. For the life of me, I can never figure out Tony D's lineup order placement. Dominguez is hitting fifth today, but just in the past week, he's also hit third and eighth. Go figure.

Greene is not a ML SS. Bad decision. Following a physical error earlier.

There's something every single game with him, it's absurd. Is this what the Andujar Cedeno era was like? I didn't see much of that.

The reason these guys are Astros is because they all have at least one glaring flaw.

Yes. Unfortunately, for many of them the flaw is not "bad bunter" or "below-average power" it's more like "sucks at baseball".

8-1 Pirates in the 8th. The only suspense now is how will Ron Brand and the new kitties acclimate to one another. And whether someone else will post in this thread.

I knew better and spent some of the afternoon at Costco. It is really a shame for Lyles, because, in my opinion, he's not ready to be here. He has big league stuff, but taking a pounding every fifth day can be very disconcerting to the ego of a young pitcher. I hope that he's impervious to this season and can shrug it off.

I think he kind of got the shaft a bit today. A hard hit single, a high bouncer over third, a full count walk to McCutchen, and then the hook.  I realize he's not gonna get a lot of fifth inning rope, but that seemed awfully quick.

You may have a point, but Tony D obviously saw something either physically or mentally that suggested implosion was about to occur and got him out of  there. Of course, the bully wasn't up to the task either.

Also, end of a long season and an expanded roster and thus bullpen.

I thought it was kinda quick too. That said, it is a mystery to me why the 5th is nearly always a disaster for Lyles. Bizarre year for Astros starters. Norris has been great at home, wretched on the road, same with Keuchel, and Lyles looks like a future #1 every game for 4 innings. I dont get it.

Three hours before we picked them up, Roger developed an upper respiratory infection. We got to meet him and he's wonderful. Very loving, very active, he climbed up on my shoulders immediately and nuzzled my head. Great little kitty, but we opted to wait until he's well before we take him home.

Which is just as well, because Smokey is a beautiful but very cautious little guy. He hasn't really come out of his carrier yet. He's going to need a few days before he's comfortable.

It's a great shelter. If you're looking to adopt, or perhaps a recipient for a donation, I can't say enough good things about Friends For Life in the Heights.

His BAA numbers (.270 RH; .307 LH) are way too high from both sides of the plate, but his numbers against lefties (307 .376 .531 .907) are putrid. He's got to solve that problem. He has great stuff, but he too has a problem on the road. For the life of me, I don't understand why he and several of the other pitchers falter so on the road. It's just a matter of psychology.
