Wow, the Astros actually don't have anybody 1-8 tonight who's batting lower than .240 (the cleanup hitter, of course). That might be the first in a while.

What the hell happened there? Castro double-clutched and still threw out Jay (17 SB, 4 CS) by about 8 feet.

How come there's no space between the Astros and their position in the lineup, but there is for the Terdinals?

I think I read that his high and away chase rate is by far the worst in the majors.

I'll treat that question as rhetorical.

Fuck yes.

Sucks for you.

We're in the bottom of the 7th, Cards up 3-0. They've got a man on 1st with no outs, and Kozmo Kramer (or somebody Kozma) at the plate.

There's been the usual slap-dickery in the field by the Astros: JD getting outfoxed by the LF wall to produce a triple(!) for Neck-tat Molina, Altuve jogging after a ball that bounced off his glove so that Holliday to make it to third, the usual sort of stuff. But Dominguez made a really nice play on a bad-hop ball to his left to start a DP. I really like what I see of his defense.

Well, we do now.

Meanwhile, John Jay got a two-out single to drive in the Cards' fourth run. The Mole is up now. And Jay has some ridiculous arm-brushing routine that he goes through after a hit. Must think he's a fucking Ranger.

On to the top of the 8th.

Well, now it's B8 and the score's still 4-1, so apparently we didn't get the job done.

Freese just blew up his bat on a dribble up the middle and winds up with a single as Astros go jumping over pieces of lumber (Valdez is in to pitch). DeScalso up.

JD Martinez leads off with a swinging strikeout. He's carrying himself like a guy who's ready for the season to be over.

Castro's next, and makes an out somehow.

Dominguez grounds out to third, and that's the ball game.
