'Battle for the Boot' Alternatives
« on: June 28, 2011, 02:07:33 pm »
The Astros and Rangers don't have a rivalry.  The stupid boot doesn't make the annual interleague clusterfuck any more appealing.  But it did get me to thinking...could we add 'Battle' to any contrived rivalry?

Rangers vs. Cubs - Battle of the Pick-a-nick Basket

Royals vs. Nationals - Battle of 1812 (a matchup sure to set the capita
  • l on fire!)

Marlins vs. Mariners - Battle of Industrial-Strength Fishing Line

Brewers vs. Angels - Battle of Saturday Night vs. Sunday Morning

etc, etc, etc.

I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

He was forced to consult a doctor after the game went into extra innings and passed the 4 hour mark.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.
