Anyone going to today's game?  I got invited by 3 different people to go.  Why can't they invite me on different days?

You sound like crud BudGirl. Better go home and get some rest. You should feel better by Thursday!

checking others calendars really will not allow me to do that.  the other assistant already has the day off.  could teach them how valuable i am though....

Runner on first, one out (I think), batter pops a lazy fly to shallow right. I see no reason why Hunter could not have caught that ball as it hung up a long time. Whatever the case, it landed four feet in front of him. The runner who had been on first of course was in no-man's land. Hunter picks up the ball and fires to second. He would have had the runner out by six steps. Instead, again, remember he's in shallow right, no more that 20 yards from second base, instead he throws the ball ten feet over Sanchez's head like any 8 year old would be likely to do in a similar scenario.

Fortunately CJ had anticipated this and was more or less in place to corral the throw and relay it on to a third base covering Myers who tagged the runner out.

at one point, 8th or 9th inning, votto was kind of giving some dance moves.  he had fun tonight.

It's embarrassing how bad this team are.  The Reds - the shithouse Reds - can come in here, yuck it up, mess around and still hammer the every-lovin' crap out of the Astros without breaking a sweat.

I'm with MM.  The new owner needs to blow this team up and build from a new foundation.  I posted on FB that Crane should immediately dump Lee, Pence and Hall.  Add Myers to that list too.  Just get their salaries off the books and try to get something back in value.  This team can get worse, but what does that matter?  They're dead last now and tanking hard.

The most fun I've had watching the Astros in recent years was late last year, when the kids came up and injected some enthusiasm into the proceedings.  I want more of that.  I want to be like Brewers fans or the Reds fan (singular) who got to watch a young team come together and grow into a solid ballclub.  The alternative is to suffer this death march for the rest of the season - in which case I doubt very much I'll be watching.

Pence, CJ and Myers and to a lesser extent, Lee, were the drivers of that. But I guess they are all washed up now.
