FOTF grounds out 5-3.
Lee (tied for the league lead in triples) singles to LF.
CJ grounds to 2B, throw goes wide of SS.  Wright backs up the play, gets into a race with El Caballo for 3rd, tags Lee on the shoulder before Lee gets to the bag.  Carlos hurts his elbow on the play.  CJ advances to 2nd.
Hall Ks.  Big shocker there.

The best thing that we did after Towles's 2B was get the half-inning over, which isn't saying much.

That was a clever slide by Hall, and he may actually have been safe. But I stand by my assessment that he is not a fast man.

I think he missed the tag on Hall.

I couldn't tell. Maybe they will show a replay.  Then we can bitch/overanalyze.  Then bitch some more.

Even after the replay it is difficult to see if he tagged the shirt.  He definitely missed the hand.

Should of been an error on Hall's hit

The ball hit the bag and Turner had to reach back for it and got nothing on the throw.  It's a no-brainer base hit.

He had time to right himself and make a good throw.  He rushed it unnecessarily.  The rushed throw with nothing on it beat Hall by 2 steps

The throw as it was would have gotten Hall, but if he takes his time no way he gets him.  It was a clear hit.

Seems like Hall is having problems with his vision.  Lots of squinting this year.  (And he just swung at pitch that Hunter wouldn't have hacked at)

What sit in the rain? You show up, you pop 'em, you leave. There's no sitting. We're counting on you, dammit. Tell them you're delivery from Shake Shack.

Just read an AP blurb about the delayed Jakes/Nats game tonight.  Apparently a huge storm hit right around game time.
Then there's this:

Quote
Despite the forecast, the grounds crew was watering the field right before the storm's anticipated arrival. Right after that they rolled out the tarp.
Don't think twice, it's alright.

Rebooted (unplugged) cable box, and all is well for now.  But I've got my EYE on you, whatever-the-hell-you're-calling-yourself-these-days cable company.

Apparently you can't talk about a 3-hitter either.  Thanks Brownie.

You're not disappointed, are you?

No. Well, maybe a little.

Game. I'd like to tell you it's a little less satisfying beating a Ponzis team that is a) terrible and b) in serious financial trouble but I would be lying.

In fact, I look forward to watching the Mets suck all season long. I'm sure Bidgy will, too.

Don't look now but the Astros are only 3 games out of first (Reds lose)

Before I worry about that, I just hope for a two-or-more win streak.
