I was staying at the Wynn in Vegas a couple of weeks ago and the place took great pride in that they employed 18 sommeliers.  Sure enough, when I ordered a bottle of barbera at one of the Italian restaurants, the sommelier himself brought and opened the bottle and described the type of grape and year and soil and all the other things one is supposed to hear while impatiently waiting for one's glass to be poured.

As he was filling my glass, I asked him how it tasted.  Unfortunately, he hadn't had a chance to try it yet.  But still, I'm glad there were 18 of them available to open my bottle for me and read the label out loud.
