DoRay busily equating their hitting acumen with that of Carlos Lee, noting that Harang is going away all night so he should hit it to right.

Not really a hit and run with 2 stikes on Lee.  Bourn was just running on the pitch.

Hey HH, I must have missed something, why have you been in Midland for so long?  Do you live there now?

Yep..been out here for nearly 2 years now.  Moving back to Houston in September though.

I've had MLB.TV before, but never with the issues that I've had this year. It pretty much sucks (but not so bad that I've resorted to listening to DoRayMi(lo)...

I have about 1M of bw here and I can't get mlb.tv to work anywhere on any game. It will be a serious fucking problem for me if this is the way the entire season goes. I've never had these problems before. What happens to you, choppy feeds? No feed at all?

I missed the answer to the trivia question (who are the 3 NL switch-hitters with 50 doubles in a season). Did anybody hear the answer?

I've had pretty good luck with it this year. I'm pushing 2.5 MBps at home but it works just as well at work where we only have 1 MBps for the whole office. Any choppiness I get is from me doing other things on the same computer I'm watching with.

Real choppy feeds.  Blank screen (MLB logo silhouette).  Stalling out.  Been a real problem...  BW, don't know what OS you're ruinning, but if its Windows 7 you have to uninstall NexDef (if you downloaded it) to get MLB.TV to work.  They tell you to instll it, but never mention that it is not compatible with Windows 7.  I had to find this out in the support forum (could get nothing for the first 2 or 3 games, uninstalled NexDef and got it working to where it was at least bearable...).

Yeah, I don't really understand what the problem here is. I've never had trouble before. I'll fuck with some archived games and see if that works.

I'm using the latest Apple OS and XP, neither is working, neither the premium service or the regular service.

Berkman, Jose Vidro, and Pete Rose.

Thanks. Berkman and Rose were my two guesses (and I wasn't completely sure of those), but I would never have come up with Vidro.

With 1M you might also try (once you can actually get a game on the screen) adjusting the 'video quality' at the bottom of the screen.  Obviously the lower quality picture the less bandwidth needed (not like I didn't think you knew this concept, just that you may not have known of the availability of the adjustment...).

There is a customer service number, but I can't find it offhand.  Here is the support forum link though:  http://mlb.mlb.com/help/supportforum/forum.jsp?plckForumPage=ForumCategory&plckCategoryId=db3d8d11-6612-46a0-9783-8496e917b6b2

They occasionally answer a question, so it might be worth a shot to ask...

Then again, with MLBs ridiculous blackout rules they probably consider Panama within Houston's territory...

Two things I saw in the MLB.TV support forum:

Right-click on the game screen and select Flash "settings". The first tab on the left is Display and they said to disable any hardware settings. The third tab from the left is Local Storage and it's recommended to up it to 10MB. I set mine to unlimited. These things did help quite a bit with choppiness.
