With two on and nobody out, you don't have to sacrifice.  You can opt for this thing called a hit and run.  This can be quite effective if you are fortunate to have a left-handed contact hitter who hits well to the right side, and perhaps even more effective when you send up a pinch hitter of your own choosing.

I blame the players for not executing on the play.  I was a little bit surprised that it didn't work out and can assure you that it won't happen again.
