Puma doubles off the wall in CF and Lee hits a bolt off the high facade in left center, 2-0 Good Guys after 1.

The Hill earned those runs (or at least the combination of the Hill and the deep CF, Berkman's hit would have been out of most parks).  Ross seemed pretty distracted by the incline and the ball missed his glove.

I like it when that happens.

Coste appears more ignorant in the field tonight than usual.

At the risk of jinxing things very badly, it's a breath of fresh air to watch a pitcher who works fast and throws strikes.  The defense seems more alert too.

After suffering through endless innings by Ortiz and Hampton, I'm actually enjoying tonight at the ball park.

I am just thankful he didn't give the lead back in the very next inning, how many times has that happened this year?

and the wheels have fallen off.  any guesses on the next time the starters put up a quality outing?  or last into the 7th inning?

If they could just fix the schedule and get the Pirates in town for a four-game homestand...

Hanley Ramirez is now hitting .359, this kid can rake!  (Mauer is at .380, Ichiro .365)

Yeah. Both Lee and Berkman have hit the ball hard but have nothing to show for it since the first. Everybody else seems lost. I hoped that being at home would help, but evidently not tonight.

it seemed like hanley ramirez and dioner navarro were the lastings milleges of the red sox and yankees for at least a couple of years if not longer, trumpeted as all-time super fantastic prospects yet dangled cavalierly in a multitude of prospective trades-- ironic and surprising to me that both have turned into pretty good players (though navarro seems to be struggling this year)
