Tiger Bait! And, if the LSU batters don't stop trying to hit 3-run homers with every at-bat, they'll lose.
LSU is a very, very good team that may have started believing all the media hype. i hope UT keeps them close tonight. should be a great one.
For those who haven't already seen it... Nice article on last night's game by Bill Little.http://www.texassports.com/sports/m-basebl/spec-rel/062409aaa.htmlHook 'em.
Bill Little's writing makes me go into hyperglycemic shock. All I want for my birthday is three whiskey sours and one national championship. I don't think that's asking too much. Hook 'em.
At an G-stros meet and greet. Migl (Tex A&M) and Hogue (Miss. St) got into a SEC v Big XII argument that ended with: "Let's see who wins between Texas & LSU. I would venture to guess a wager got made later about the outcome.
Nothing like living vicariously when your teams don't cut it.
I think that Texas has the momentum. I am not willing to concede though, and I think that tonight's game will be a good one. I can't wait. Renaudo is the best we've got. If he's off, then Matty Ott and Johnny Wholestaff will have to be it.Geaux Tigers!
Momentum's as good as tonight's starting pitcher, right?
Only when you're the team without momentum...
Damn. Now I get to read my pal Mike's Facebook page, which for the next month will feature obnoxious preaux-Tiger comments.
Indeed. LSU's team my not quite be a gorrilla with a chainsaw for a dick, but they were a powerful force nonetheless.I take heart in the fact that practically the entire UT team returns next year.

and that Taylor Jungman is a freshman.
Texas was screwed when Green got roughed up early and had to be taken out. If he could have gave them 5 or 6 innings, it would have been ok. Workman and Ruffin could have finished out the game. The bullpen has been shaky for a while and they had to rely on it too much with Green's early exit.
Even with an unreliable bullpen, they probably would have won it if Ruffin didn't cramp up in game 1.
I would have liked a best of five (or more) with these two teams; they were that much fun to watch.
Would you like to see some scores similar to college football? College teams typically don't have that kind of pitching depth. In that light, when will the major conferences go to wood bats?

Only a handful of division 1 baseball programs turn a profit, everyone else is in the red. Hr. Happy is right, cost will keep them from going to wooden bats.
i do not believe that.
Jim, this was a couple of years ago, but in the Big 12, Texas turns a profit, A&M typically breaks even. No one else came close to making money on baseball.
i know that. i was saying that i do not believe that schools cannot afford wood bats.
It's not that they cannot afford the wood bats. It's that they would have to find the extra money to put into the baseball programs to pay for the wood bats. They'd either have to increase their budgets for it or take money from another area in the athletic department. Good luck getting a university to increase the budget for that, and who do you take money from? Personally I've always thought there could be a deal reached with MLB to help DI pay for the wood bats.
any baseball program that wants to afford wooden bats can afford it, imo. how much more that metal bats? how many uniform changes do you need? find a sponsor?
Clark, Tucker, Wood, and probably Belt are gone, right?
Did anyone else see this article when it came out? At the start of the college baseball season? I've thought about these guys all spring.http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/01/sports/baseball/01maine.html
