I'm sitting here watching the steM and the Giants, and Carol was sleeping, or so I thought. After hearing Morgan, Miller and Phillips prattle on for three innings about who the steM leader was, Carol rolled over and said "STFU. Who gives a fuck about the leader of the steM." The third wife is the charm?

Phillips doesn't think the Mets are getting their $$ worth from Beltran.

Phillips was quick to make that point, but then slow to give an alternative for the steM. Phillips is an idiot.

I thought maybe this was something about Mr. Happy having a sordid dream involving him, some Atomic Balm, and Kurt Cobain.

I get that dream all the time too.

Not sure what CF they'd rather have.  It's not PRW's fault that they can't pitch worth dick.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Maybe if he wasn't sucking up so much salary, they'd be able to afford better pitchers.  See Rod, A.

The steM's payroll isn't exactly hamstrung.  If you want to look at someone tying up salary, look at Delgado.

Even if it was to an extent, there's no guarantee they'd spend it on good pitching. See Perez, Oliver, and Martinez, Pedro.

This is an excellent point.

They could have had Derek Lowe for the amount they're paying Oliver Perez.  Someone made a boo-boo with that one.

I thought Lowe got about 4 yrs/$60 mil, and Perez 3/$36?
