What's funny/sad, to me anyway, is that a few weeks ago when we were talking pre-draft (this one's not podcasted that I could find) my wife turned to me during the commercial break and said, "hmm, you almost sound like you know what you're talking about. Almost." Thanks, dear.

An odd gap in the archives. 14 days ago then jumps to 26 days ago. A 12 day gap including May 31, the show I was referring to. Last week also isn't there.

Did I hear that players, specifically pitchers, can't get better during the season? Just as a generally statement, havent we ridiculed that kind of talk in the past?

I'd have to hear the context of how it was said (becaue I don't remember it).

"Backe isnt likely to become a reliable pitcher..." during the 2nd segment. Granted, he's a converted position player, I dont think anyone has top of the rotation expectations, but he came back from TJ surgery pretty quick. He could get better during the season. Control at least. Wandy could regain some touch as well, recovering from the groin injury. Reminds me of the guy who posted a couple years ago that players don't get better during the season, there was a statistical component to his argument.

Not at a point where I can listen to it right now, but if it's when I was talking about Backe, sure he can get better, but the ceiling aint that high in my opinion. At least that's what I meant.

Okay, I listened to the segment...that was Raheel, and the point I got out of it is that Backe isn't a reliable pitcher...which I agree with. I do think he's likely to become more consistent with time, but he's not going to become a front line guy.

OK, just listened to the podcast.

Congratulations on making it through the music stuff... that was NOT good radio.

I disagree on the "collection of #5 guys" - Wandy has enough to be a #3 guy on a good team.

Unfortuantely agree that they will rally within a couple of games of .500 and try to add a piece.

Overall... you're really sounding calm and credible. Very nice.
