I know. They're really in a corner, but it doesn't look like J. R. is learning anything other than how to get outhit by pitchers right now. I find it hard to believe that some light is going to come on while he faces good big league pitching. I think it's just as likely that he starts to press so much that this continues as long as he's up. If a month of Brad everyday helps Towles figure something out in AAA that would be nice.

I know that's why Ausmus is with the team. I know that Bourn pulled out of his slump. I know that his bat isn't really important in this lineup. I know the Astros really don't have any other options. I want him to succeed, but he looks so lost and doesn't give any indication that he's going to figure it out and find his way. I don't believe in irreparable damage to his psyche or something like that, but he's getting murdered out there, night after night. He needs that Mutt Mantle moment, or Leo Durocher betting him for cokes or something that settles him down.

I don't have a solution for it, I'm ust a schmo. But he looks awful at the plate.
