STL newspaper on last night's game

Lefthander Randy Flores, who has been ineffective lately, gave up two runs in the eighth, walking two hitters in succession to help grease that skid. La Russa had issue with home-plate umpire Tim Tschida in that inning and again in the ninth with Pujols at bat, and was tossed from the dugout as he debated a strike call on Pujols.

"Evidently we had a disagreement, and he banged me," La Russa said.

Apparently Tony moved the pitcher to the 2-hole.

I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Interesting that LaRussa doesn't know the difference between getting tossed and getting banged.

Tossed salad?

You know, I try to get the point across with subtlety and grace, at least as much so as you can when making a joke about one man tossing another...

Subtlety and grace have no place here.
