Bottom half of the order were absolutely clutch tonight.

Burke 1-4, run
Ausmus, 3-4 run
Everett 1-4, run, squeeze bunt RBI.

Cheers

Its not the first time the bottom of the order has picked us up. They have a giant pair of RCAP.

In case you haven't noticed, these guys have shown over and over this year that they don't know shit.

I was telling my dad all weekend that my PePa would have loved this team. He always said good pitching stops good hitting, and he loved to see the young guys play and make a difference.

I miss him, but I know he is watching and celebrating with us.

Bagwell and Biggio because they are the heart and soul of this team.  Not to mention how long they waited.  Brad Lidge, because now he is "off the hook".  Brad Lidge is going to be dominant in the Series.

Like Fisk, Pujols is a footnote.

Talk Zone / Re: YOUR DUTY TODAY AS AN ASTROS FAN
« on: October 19, 2005, 03:10:10 pm »
On Saturday I was at the game and sat in the Crawford Boxes. Lamber's homerun was hit 3 seats to my right on the row in front of me. I can be seen in the video on MLB.com.

So, I come into work today for the first time this week, and everyone knows that I am some kind of fan. They are all trying to give sympathy etc, but I am over all that and really just want to talk about the good things from the weekend series.

In the midst of all of this, I remember that no one has heard about my 2 seconds of fame, so I spin up the video to show my boss' boss. I point and say 'there I am', and he has me backup the video and is thouroughly amused, etc etc. All of a sudden he stops, looks at me and says 'are you wearing the same shirt?!'.

I tell him of course, its good luck. I don't think he gets it.

Might I add, Fuck the Jakes.

The dictionary should be changed to include the proper usage of Jakes. It should only ever be 'Fuck the Jakes' or 'Fucking Jakes'.

You can go here and look at ESPN park factors. Not sure how valid this voodoo is:

Great job, as always. I couldn't agree more.

But I assume you mean, "current Jakes bat .099 against him", instead of 0.99.

Yeah, you're right. With all these back-to-back games, I'm starting to make mental errors.

I am pretty sure its the irregular configuration of the website that lead to your mistake. Or perhaps the administrators were aligned against you.

Its all a conspiracy to get Foghorn to do the previews, because he is more exciting to read.

Pujols was called out at home.  Brad was limping and flipped the ball to Lidge.  At that point, both runners are on base and Bruntlett is calling for time.  The umps do not see him or hear him and Walker takes third.

Walker never stopped at 2B.  You can't call time out during the middle of a play, regardless of how bad your limping.

He stopped. I remember.

My personal favorite is the 'free ride' bullshit they play. Last year it was after every walk. This year they mix in 'these boots are made for walkin'... a song that holds a special place in my heart as well...
