It doesn't seem possible but I believe by the end of this series I will hate Brett Gardner even more than I already do.

The home run ball bounced off the giant wall and back on to the field. Yankees leftfielder Brett Gardner picked it up. He saw Houston bullpen catcher Javier Bracamonte walking past him toward the pile of Astros gathering at home plate.

“Here,” Gardner said, handing him the ball. “Take this. You guys are a great team. Now go win the World Series. Represent the American League well.”

Said Bracamonte, “It was so classy. And Aaron Judge gave me a hug and said the same thing. I have so much respect for those guys.”

Bracamonte later gave the ball to an MLB authenticator.

Good Verducci article

Last time they tore his shirt he got in trouble with his wife

Ball 1 to Urshela was mind boggling

Yankee defense might be considered offensive by some.

Boone burning through his bullpen, good

Ottavino and now Fatbathia seems to be some kind of concession.

Who gets the 8th for the Astros?

Depends on this half inning

Chirinos had to pause on strike 4 to be sure.

This ump is dogshit too.

The homerun bothers me because Sanchez has looked like dogshit the whole series on fastballs in. James was determined to throw his fastball away.

That is what I thought after I read the article.  There will be people whistling constantly the next time the Yanks come to Houston.

I see what you did there.

Correa in the postgame: "I was just trying to get the ball in the air."

No lube for Brantley

I wouldn't pitch Cole on short rest unless we were facing elimination.

If the Astros can win one of the next two games, I would think Cole gets Sunday on normal rest, if necessary and Johnny Allstaff on Saturday.

We already have precedent on this from the ALDS. Hinch will do everything in his power to win the game in front of him, and pitching Cole on short rest would be a better proposition than leaving it to the bullpen.

In the playoffs not going with Verlander Friday is too much of a headgame.  You play to win the game in front of you. That means Verlander as soon as he's on full rest. Greinke tomorrow, Verlander Friday.

Following that train of thought, it should be Cole Saturday (if necessary) and all hands on deck (including Verlander, Greinke, and probably even Cole) on Sunday (if necessary)
