I was milling around on B-R, looking at some of Keuchel's stats.  Based on what I can tell is that 2 guys have stolen 2B off of him this year and he has 3 "bases taken" against him which it says is bases advanced on fly balls, passed balls, wild pitches, balks, and defensive indifference.  So...in 144 IP only 5 players have moved up a base on anything other than a hit, sacrifice, fielders choice or error?  That seems fairly incredible but I don't exactly have a baseline understanding of what is normal.

I know whenever I hear other people talk about the Astros they are still giving the "it's early" caveat.  And my "gut feel" wants to mostly agree with that, but the Astros have built up such a nice lead so fast that the math is starting to say that this team will definitely be in contention this year.  Baseball Prospectus says that the Astros have 53% chance of winning the division or wild card. 44% chance of making the divisional round and are the most likely playoff participant and most likely division winner in the AL West (which is apparently wide open, unless you're the Rangers).

Also, the underlying assumption to the math is that the Astros are really a .486 team, and even with that, the probabilities are suggesting they will be in contention to the end this year.  If they are actually a better than .500 team, then really the Astros are already in the drivers seat,

that if this type of loss happened to the Bosox, they'd talk about it 100 years from now. And thet he bets my grandkids will never hear the end of how Lidge cost the 'Stros the pennant back in '05.

You damn well better believe they would. We arent going to lose though. Fuck 'em. Win another game and it'll be the Cards talking about how fucking Pujols went Carlton Fisk one night in Houston but they lost anyway. Just win bitches.
