Title: RIP George Bush

One of my favorite Astros' memories is Tejada's on deck courtly bow to George and Barbara.

I don't remember that. I remember him being at many games, often sitting next to Nolan Ryan. He would have made a good Commissioner of MLB.

I found the country's reaction to his passing comforting.

He was recognized for being a good person who also happened to serve his country well most of his adult life.

I did too. I wasn't a fan of 41, but I never doubted his decency and heart.

Certainly not without some political red in his ledger (Iran-Contra cover-up and Watergate adjacency), but very clearly a decent man who was driven to serve his country.  I suspect an element of the sorrow at his passing, as with that of John McCain, is that such selfless dedication is sorely lacking from those who “serve” currently.
